An ERP system in Egypt doesn't have one price. Packaged ERP means per-user licenses plus implementation; a custom system means paying for the build, then hosting and maintenance. For reference, Odoo lists its Standard plan at $7.25 per user a month billed yearly, and Dynamics 365 Business Central starts at $80, both before implementation and e-invoicing.
What makes up the cost of an ERP system?
The license or build price is only one part of the budget. A serious business case costs every line below for each option over several years of use, because the option that looks cheapest at signing can become the most expensive as users and customizations grow.

What do Odoo and Business Central licenses actually cost?
These prices are published in USD on the official pages as of September 2026 and may vary by country and promotion. The 20-user, one-year column is for illustration only and covers licenses alone, not implementation or extra hosting.

Odoo also sells implementation Success Packs, including Basic (25 hours, $1,150), Standard (50 hours, $2,240) and Custom (100 hours, $4,000), with 15% off for new customers. How many hours you need depends on the number of modules and how far your workflow departs from the standard setup.
Because licenses are billed in dollars, remember that the Central Bank of Egypt has let market forces set the exchange rate since 6 March 2024, so each annual renewal can cost a different amount in pounds.
How much does a custom ERP cost to build?
A custom system is priced by the hours its scope requires. Clutch's software development pricing guide (updated 12 September 2026) reports a global average of about $132,480 over a typical 13 months, but the most common bracket is $10,000–$49,999. In Clutch's directory of Egyptian software companies, the most common rate is $25–$49 an hour; several of the leading listed firms set a $50,000+ minimum project, while smaller agencies start at $5,000 or $10,000.

When is a custom ERP cheaper than packaged software?
When you have many users or a workflow that differs a lot from the standard setup. Licenses grow with every employee: 50 users on Business Central Essentials, for example, comes to $48,000 a year at the published price, whereas a custom system's cost sits mainly in the build and then maintenance. On the other hand, packaged ERP gets you running faster, with mature accounting modules and vendor updates.

How much does e-invoice and e-receipt integration add?
In Egypt, this integration isn't optional for most companies. The Egyptian Tax Authority required taxpayers to register on the e-invoicing system by 15 December 2022, and stated that from 1 April 2023 only electronic invoices count for VAT deduction or refund. The e-receipt system for consumer sales is being rolled out in phases, including Decree No. 396 of 2023, effective 15 July 2023.

Which hidden costs push ERP projects over budget?
- Cleaning data before migration: duplicate items and unreconciled balances in Excel files take your team's time before anything can be migrated.

Is Odoo free?
There's a One App Free plan on Odoo's pricing page that gives you one app with unlimited users on Odoo Online. Once you need more than one app, say sales plus inventory and accounting, you move to a paid per-user plan.
Can any ERP be connected to Egypt's e-invoicing system?
Technically yes, because the Tax Authority provides APIs for ERP and POS systems. Before signing, ask the vendor or developer about a real integration they've done, how they handle digital signing, and how they deal with rejected documents.
How long does an ERP implementation take?
It depends on the number of modules and how ready your data is. The typical timeline for software projects reviewed on Clutch is about 13 months, including large ones; a phased rollout lets you run the first module before the whole system is finished.
Do I need a server on premises?
Not necessarily. Cloud systems run in the browser, and Odoo's Custom plan, for example, lets you choose between Odoo Online, Odoo.sh and on-premise hosting. What matters is that the hosting account is in your company's name, that you can access backups, and that branches have a plan for internet outages.
Who owns the data and code in a custom ERP?
The contract decides. Require code ownership to transfer as each milestone is paid, a repository in your company's name, database documentation and server credentials, so you can continue with any other team later.
